Entrance Requirements:

• 6 hours of credit from each of 4 different subjects fields
• 3.0 GPA in intended Honours subject(s) (3.25 GPA for Psychology)
• 3.0 CGPA (3.25 CGPA for Psychology)

Students must apply to the Honours degree program in the Dean’s Office, Faculty of Arts.

• Attendance may be Full Time or Part Time
• 108-120 credit hours or 18-20 full courses required for the degree 

Honours subject field(s):

The number of credit hours varies by Department. Students must sucessfully complete, at the University of Manitoba or through an approved University of Manitoba exchange program, the hours of coursework in their Honours subject(s) as noted below:

• In a single Honours subject requiring 54-69 credit hours, 33 credit hours must be completed in the Honours subject.
• In a single Honours subject requiring more than 69 credit hours, 39 credit hours must be completed in the Honours subject.
• In a double or joint Honours subject requiring 42-45 credit hours in one Honours subject, 24 credit hours must be completed in that Honours subject.
• In a double or joint Honours subject requiring less than 42 credit hours in one Honours subject, 21 credit hours must be completed in that Honours subject.
• In a double or joint Honours subject requiring more than 45 credit hours in one Honours subject, 33 credit hours must be completed in that Honours subect.

Minor:

• A minor is not required, however, if the student completes a minor, they may request permission from the Dean's Office to have the minor recorded on their record.

Ancillary Options:

• Minimum 24 credit hours in ancillary options (courses not from the Honours field) over years 2H, 3H and 4H

Other Degree Requirements:

• Written English and Mathematics requirement (minimum of 3 credit hours in each)
• Must complete 6 hours in a Humanities, a Social Science and a Science (view requirements)
• Must complete 6 hours of credit from each of 5 different subject fields
• Must satisfy residency requirements as outlined in Undergraduate Calendar
• Must complete General Degree requirements within first 90 credit hours
