This is a term of full immersion in Mexican culture, sharing classes, professors, lodging and families with Mexican students. The setting is a beautiful, modern university located in an old colonial city surrounded by breathtaking mountains and picturesque villages. Morelia, founded in 1541, is situated west of Mexico City, about four hours by bus.
In addition to the five courses for credit transferable to the University of Manitoba, the students will take guided excursions throughout the spectacular sites of Michoacán, and take part in guided field trips to attractive places of archaeological, historical, or ecological interest in Mexico.
This program is designed to promote cooperation and understanding among our universities and students. It will be a valuable academic experience, as well as a true and prolonged immersion in another culture.
The cost, including airfare, home-stay, and transportation/hotels for the trips, will be approximately $4500.00 plus tuition at the University of Manitoba. Faculty of Arts students are eligible for a $500.00 grant.

All courses (except Spanish language courses) will be taught in English, and credits will be transferred to the University of Manitoba.
Registration, together with a non-refundable advance of $350.00 must be received by September 20, 2008.
