Certificate Program in Public Sector Management (CPSM)

Co- Sponsor
The Government of Manitoba

The Certificate Program Public Sector Management (CPSM) is designed for new and developing mid-managers working for the Government of Manitoba, who often bring technical skills to their managerial role but have had little opportunity to cultivate and enhance their management skills. The CPSM will focus on developing a knowledge of management tools for a dynamically changing environment, an awareness of government budgetary processes and various methods of analysing issues to develop better alternatives and solutions.

A strong emphasis is placed on integrating the important and current issues affecting all levels of government in Manitoba. The instructors have a wealth of hands-on senior management experience in the public sector.

Program Structure

The CPSM is a one-year part-time study program and will be piloted in Blended Learning format integrating face-to-face sessions with on-line learning. The program consists of 5 required courses each lasting approximately two weeks (180 hrs) and 36 hours of Organization & Staff Development workshop electives.

Course Progression

Students will move through the program as a cohort and are encouraged to take the courses in the order listed.

What our Instructors Say…
Photo of Mitch Bourbonniere

“My responsibility, as an adult educator, is to provide an experience that will leave no doubt in their minds that they want more of such experiences. My students are usually sorry to leave the class at the end”

– Mitch Bourbonnière
