CACE Courses as Degree Credit

Faculty of Education:

The four core courses in the CACE program are cross-listed as both certificate courses in Continuing Education and as undergraduate courses in the Faculty of Education at the University of Manitoba.

These four courses may count as credit towards the complimentary course requirements in the Bachelor of Education and Post Baccalaureate Diploma (PBDE) offered through the Faculty of Education.

The completed CACE Program may also be considered as 15 credit hours towards the fourth year required for admittance to a Masters of Education degree program in the Faculty of Education for individuals who have a three-year undergraduate degree. In order to meet the 24 credit hours, individuals must complete an additional 9 credit hours of senior level courses (i.e., University of Manitoba 5000 level Education courses, 1000 or 2000 B.Ed. courses, or courses at the 3000 level or above in other faculties).

To enroll in any of the four CACE courses for university degree credit, register through Aurora Student (at umanitoba.ca) using the degree numbers below:

EDUA 1560 Adult Learning and Development (3)
EDUA 1570 Foundations of Adult Education (3)
EDUA 1580 Program Planning in Adult Education (3)
EDUA 1590 Facilitating Adult Learning (3)

If you have completed the four core courses as degree credit and subsequently apply to enter the Certificate in Adult and Continuing Education Program (CACE), please submit with your application, the Certificate Course Credit Request Form, to transfer the four courses into the certificate program.

Faculty of Arts:

Graduates of the CACE Program at the University of Manitoba may receive 18 credit hours towards the Bachelor of Arts: Integrated Studies ( BA: IS) degree program.
