HRM By Distance
You can complete the entire HRM Program by distance or combine distance, face-to-face and/or blended format courses. There are three twelve-week distance terms: January-April, May-August and September- December. Distance courses usually include an online component using an online learning management system (LMS). The University of Manitoba will be changing their LMS from WebCT to ANGEL Learning as of the fall 2008 term. Online components may range from e-mail assignment submission to online discussion groups; this may vary from course-to-course.

Assignments

We do not automatically confirm receipt of your assignments, as we do not track them.

In HRM distance courses, assignments are the method of evaluation. Most courses average 3-4 assignments. There are no exams.

In most courses, assignments can be submitted directly to the course website, faxed to 474-7661 or mail in to the Student Registration & Records office.

The instructor assigned to the course is available to answer your questions, will mark your assignments, provide feedback on them and return them to you.

A Letter of Introduction from the instructor is sent to you and/or posted on the course website. The letter includes the instructor’s contact information.

Withdrawal

As with all of our certificate courses, to avoid a potential F grade on your student record, you must notify us in writing of your intention to withdraw from a course.

Please refer to our Administrative Policies on our website for deadline dates for refund eligibility.
