The Integrated Support Worker Program, offered in partnership with the University of Manitoba Continuing Education (UMCE) and Winnipeg Technical College (WTC) prepares those seeking a rewarding and challenging career in the health care field transition from providing institutional support to providing support to those living in communities. The program, offered in a flexible format to support employees currently in the field, teaches basic knowledge and skills related to the body and mind, and how to assist when function is impaired, and provides an optional work practicum placement.
This program is designed for those who:
Are transitioning from providing care in institutions to providing support in the community
Currently have a recognized Health Care Aide Certificate and who need to increase their knowledge and skills related to mental and cognitive functioning
Currently have some training but no credentials related to mental and cognitive functioning and need the breadth and depth of knowledge related to these areas
Classes starting August 2013
Cost: $495.00 CAD per course
WTC Courses
NOTE: Students are required to purchase a textbook, good for all 5 WTC courses. Cost: $195.00
