University Entry Options

New and returning students need to decide on a program prior to applying to the University of Manitoba:

  • Applicants who are new to post-secondary education begin their studies in either University 1 or General Studies.
  • Applicants who wish to be admitted to the Distance and Online Education Bachelor of Social Work program may apply directly to the Faculty of Social Work.
  • Applicants who have previously attended a post-secondary institution and meet specific entrance requirements may apply directly to the following Distance and Online Education degree programs in the following faculties: Arts; Clayton H. Riddell Environment, Earth, and Resources, and Social Work; or Post-Baccalaureate Diploma programs in Education or Nursing.
  • Applicants who are applying to the University of Manitoba as Visiting Students must apply to General Studies.
