Apply For Examination at a Location Other Than The University of Manitoba Campus
Deferred examinationsIf you are unable to write a final exam because of illness or other disability, or for compassionate reasons, you must file an application in writing with the Dean or Director of your faculty/school for a deferred exam. No deferred examinations shall be granted on the basis of conflict(s) with vacation or holiday plans.
The application must be filed within seven days of the last exam you are scheduled to write and must be accompanied, or followed shortly, by a medical certificate or an appropriate document certifying your inability to write the exam at the regular scheduled time. Where possible, indicate the period of disability. Based on the evidence, the Dean or Director will decide whether or not to approve the application.
When an application for a deferred examination is approved, the deferred exam will ordinarily be written within 30 working days from the end of the exam series from which the exam was deferred. You will be notified by your faculty/school regarding the status of your deferred exam application. Please read the entire section on Deferred Examinations (under section 4.2 Examinations) in the Undergraduate Calendar and Registration Guide prior to submitting the Application for Deferred Examination form.
Release of gradesFollowing the end of courses, faculties and schools will submit grades to the Registrar’s Office. These will be posted on Aurora Student. This may be a few days after classes for some courses and up to a few weeks after final examinations for others. Grades are not available by telephone from Distance and Online Education staff.
If you did not write your final exam at UM, please allow several weeks for your final grade to be posted.
