The University of Manitoba offers all-inclusive pricing making the Intensive English Program one of the most affordable programs in Canada. The program price includes:
Accommodation
Whether you choose to live with a homestay family or on campus in residence, all of your daily living needs are included.
Homestay: Living with family during your stay will give you the chance to experience life with a Canadian family. You’ll have your own room and shared laundry and bathroom facilities. Your host family will provide three meals a day. Homestay families are located within 30 minutes or less by bus to the university campus.
Residence: If you choose to stay on campus, you’ll have a residence room with a common bathroom, laundry and kitchen facilities. Students eat meals in the residence cafeteria together with other university students. It is just a short walk from you residence room to your classroom.
Tuition
In the IEP, you have 26 hours of classes per week. The program will provide you with the textbooks for all of your courses while you study in the program.
Health Insurance
Students with a study permit for six months or more are eligible for Manitoba Health and Pharmacare Coverage. Students who come for less than six months or without a study permit are encouraged to purchase travel health insurance in their home country.
Experience Manitoba Activities
All Experience Manitoba Activities are free of charge and include admission and transportation. Additional fees apply for IEP Extras and IEP Adventures.
Gym Membership
For a $25 activation fee, you can use the University of Manitoba’s gym facilities for the duration of your program. Facilities include a swimming pool, three gymnasiums and a fitness centre.
Campus Services
As an IEP student, you are issued a University of Manitoba student card which will give you access to all campus services, including libraries and computer labs.

- 1. Tuition fees include tuition, access to computer labs and libraries on campus, University of Manitoba student ID card, as well as transportation and admission to all Experience Manitoba events.
2. All-inclusive fees also include accommodation in campus residence or homestay, three meals per day, and University of Manitoba gym membership ($25 activation
fee applies).
The following additional fees may apply:
- Early arrival fees: if students arrive at their homestay prior to the scheduled arrival date, they will be charged an additional $25.00 per day.
- Late departure fees: if students wish to stay in their homestay past the scheduled departure date, arrangments for payment have to be made directly with the homestay family.
- Intensive English Program Winter holiday break: students living in residence over the Winter Break will be responsible for their own meals as there is no meal service during the holidays.
