General Information

The Academic Testing Preparation Programs are designed to prepare you for the world's leading English language tests:

• Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL)
• International English Language Testing System (IELTS)
• Test of English for International Communication (TOEIC)

If you are preparing for academic studies and testing, our courses are right for you.

Registration

The registration deadline is before the first day of each course. Early registration is recommended to ensure a place. Extended Education reserves the right to cancel courses at any time due to insufficient enrollment. Students will be contacted via email regarding program updates and course changes.

Withdrawal & Refund Information

For students wishing to withdraw from a course, written notice is required before the second class. A $25 administration fee will apply. No refunds are issued after the second class has been completed. Special withdrawal and refund policies apply to the TOEFL iBT full-time program. Please contact the office for more information.

Textbooks

Textbooks are sold through the U of M Bookstore. If no textbook is used, a photocopy fee may be charged.

Course Location

All Academic Test Preparation Programs are held at the Fort Garry Campus of the University of Manitoba. Free parking is available in most parking lots after 4:30 p.m. Please check the lot and stall signs carefully.

TOEFL iBT

The TOEFL iBT Preparation courses are designed to offer full-time or part-time training and practice in all components of the TOEFL iBT: reading, writing, speaking, and listening.

Full-Time Preparation

Students registering in the full-time TOEFL iBT Preparation course have the option of homestay, residence, or tuition only fees. Fees for this course includeTOEFL Practice Online^TM and the use of the course textbook.

Study dates are available in Summer 2014. Please contact our office.

The $200.00 registration fee is non-refundable. If your visa application is denied, we are prepared to issue a full refund including the registration fee.  In order to process the full refund, we require a copy of your letter of refusal from the Canadian Embassy.  The letter must be on Canadian Embassy letterhead and must state your name and file number.  We can accept the letter by fax or by mail.

Part-Time Preparation

Students registering in the part-time TOEFL iBT Preparation program have the option of the following study dates:

Fees for this course include TOEFL Practice Online^TM.

IELTS

Part-Time Preparation

Get focused training and practice in all components of the IELTS Academic Module. Students registering in the part-time IELTS Preparation program have the option of the following study dates:

IELTS is an internationally recognized test designed to assess the English language proficiency of individuals who plan to study or work where English is the language of communication. In Canada, IELTS results are used for immigration purposes and for admission to colleges and universities.

TOEIC

Part-Time Preparation

Become confident and well-trained in all components of the TOEIC: listening and reading. Students registering in the part-time TOEIC Preparation program has the option of the following study dates:

The University of Manitoba is an ETS-certified TOEIC test centre. Test dates at the University of Manitoba, Fort Garry Campus:
