Dean Anthony M. Iacopino's Office Visit Series

It is one of the most unique ideas in North American dental education and alumni relations. Dean Anthony M. Iacopino's Office Visit Series is off and running with a mandate to visit the practice office of every Faculty alumni practicing in the field today.

Launched in the summer of 2008, the Dean's Office Visit Series features Dr. Iacopino and his team travelling to meet and greet the many practitioners who earned their oral health credentials at the University of Manitoba.

To date, the series has run throughout Manitoba and Western Canada, in addition to stops out east in Ontario. Dean Iacopino is always on the lookout for new places to visit and professionals to meet; so why not add your practice office to the tour?

Contact the Dean's Office at the Faculty of Dentistry to schedule a visit from Dr. Iacopino and his team. We will work around your schedule to find the time that works best for you.

To arrange your visit from the Dean of Dentistry, contact Kristjana Oliver at (204) 789.3249 or Grant Warren at (204) 789-3267.  Dean Iacopino wants to meet you!

Alumni Programs

Student Mentorship Program

The Faculty of Dentistry and the Manitoba Dental Association have teamed up to provide a continuous four-year relationship between a practicing dentist (mentor) from the community and a dental student. The program is administered through the Office of Alumni Affairs at the Faculty of Dentistry with sponsorship and assistance from the MDA. Program policies, procedures, and programming are determined through a joint committee of the Faculty and the MDA.

This is a significant education program that forms part of the overall dental curriculum and will replace the current mentorship program. We hope our new program will offer new guidance, opportunities, and advisement for our students. It is a great way to connect our students to organized dentistry and the practicing community and we are looking forward to all the benefits that a strong four-year relationship will bring to both the student and the practitioner.
