About Deer Lodge Centre (DLC)


Deer Lodge Centre (DLC) is a 500 bed, long-term care and rehabilitation facility operated by Winnipeg Regional Health Authority (WRHA) and provides in-patient, out-patient and outreach programs to the community. Deer Lodge Centre serves adults who require rehabilitation and specialized care for long term health concerns.

CCOH provides dental services for the residents of DLC, seniors, DLC staff and individuals within the surrounding communities.

 

Dental Clinic

Within Deer Lodge Centre, CCOH operates a large clinic on the 2nd floor. Our staff, committed to geriatric oral care consists of a part-time dentist, 2 assistants, a hygienist and a receptionist.

 

Clinic Hours:

Clinic operates 2-3 days per week Monday to Friday 8:30 am - 4:30 pm

*It is recommended that appointments are scheduled in advance. However, walk-ins are welcome and emergencies are accommodated.

Health Promotion Unit (HPU)

Since 2000, HPU has played an important role in the program at Deer Lodge Centre. Including the provision of clinical care, the HPU trains individuals and care-givers to improve oral health, while developing research-based fact sheets.

Student Education

From August to May, as a requirement for graduation, Faculty of Dentistry students are afforded an opportunity to practice dentistry in geriatrics.
