Dental Internships Health Sciences, Winnipeg
The Dental Internship at Health Sciences program is affiliated with the University of Manitoba and fully accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation of Canada. It is one year in duration, starting July 1st and ending June 30th, and appointments will be made by the end of November each year.
One position is offered currently for applicants with a particular interest in Adult Dentistry. The adult interns are administered by the head of the Adult Dental Clinic at the Health Sciences Centre.
Wide experience is obtained in the management of patients in a hospital setting including those whose particular medical or handicapping condition warrants specialized medical and dental care. A busy oral surgery service with a fully accredited residency training program complements and enriches the dental intern's experience.
Experience in oral IM and IV sedation is standard. Experience in treatment in the operating room setting is available.
Rotations to the Department of Anaesthesia, the Department of Medicine and Emergency Department form part of the program and the dental intern is encouraged and permitted time for elective study, research, or participation in a suitable clinical activity not already included in the program.
