PBDE Practicum for Internationally Educated Teachers

This practicum is for Internationally Educated Teachers (IETs) who are enrolled in the Post-Baccalaureate Diploma in Education Program (PBDE). The purpose of a practicum placement is to provide IETs with teaching experience in a Manitoba school, an opportunity to work alongside a Manitoba teacher, and support and guidance from a Faculty Advisor.

The School Experiences Office is responsible for arranging practicum placements on your behalf. We attempt to place all Teacher Candidates (TCs) with other Teacher Candidates in order to facilitate a collaborative and supportive learning community.

The PBDE – IET practicum courses (EDUB 5220 and EDUB 5230) are offered in the fall and in the spring and run full-time practicum blocks for six weekseach term. The practicum is supervised by a mentor teacher and a faculty advisor who are committed to IETs.
