Apply to the IEEQ Program

Applications for the September intake will be online starting November 1 until April 1.

1.  Take the Self-Test

To consider whether you are ready for the IEEQ Program, take this self-test.

2.  Confirm Eligibility

To be eligible for the IEEQ Program, you must have an Assessment of Academic Credentials completed by Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba. This assessment process may take several months, and its results will determine whether you are eligible to apply to the IEEQ Program. Please contact Ms. Claudia Shymko, International Assessment Coordinator, Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba at or visit their website for more information on the Assessment of Academic Credentials.

3.  Application

The IEEQ Program's application process is integrated with the University of Manitoba's online application system. Only online applications are accepted. Please read these important notes regarding the online application system.

1.  You will be asked to create an account.  You will need to choose a username and password to create an account and begin your application.

2.  Once you have created an account, the first question will ask you about your Educational Background.  When you choose the option "I have completed a degree", then the next question will show the IEEQ Program as an option under the Price Faculty of Engineering .  It will be called "Engineering Post Bacc Diploma (IEEQ Program)".

3.  The application process asks for general information requested of all applicants to the University of Manitoba, and it also asks for specific information requested only of IEEQ Program applicants.

  • There are two areas where you will be asked for duplicate information:  English language proficiency (requested in general information and in IEEQ-specific information) and transcripts (requested in general information and in IEEQ-specific information).  You can provide the same documents (same language assessment, or same transcripts) for both requests.
  • Under the general information requested of all applicants to the University of Manitoba, you will be asked to upload transcripts and you will be instructed that you need to submit official transcripts mailed from the original institution.  Please note that we DO NOT require official transcripts mailed from the original institution and you can ignore that step.  However, the IEEQ Program requires a copy of the transcript in both the original language and an English translation to be uploaded.
  • After you have completed the general information, you will be brought to a section called "Additional Questions - Programs A-E".  In this section, choose "Price Faculty of Engineering", and then look for the section entitled "Internationally Educated Engineers Qualification (IEEQ) Program applicants only".  This will bring you to the IEEQ-specific questions on the application form.
  • The application process will ask you to submit an English language assessment using one of the University of Manitoba's approved tests.  If you cannot obtain or provide an approved assessment or test, please contact the Admissions Department at for further information.
  • A University of Manitoba requirement is that all applicants are required to submit a non-refundable application fee of $100.

Applications for the September 2020 intake will be online starting November 1, 2019.
