Purpose:
To showcase the research activities and findings of undergraduate and graduate students in the Clayton H. Riddell Faculty of Earth, Environment, and Resources.
Eligibility:
The poster competition is open to all students enrolled in the Clayton H. Riddell Faculty of Earth, Environment, and Resources at the University of Manitoba, either full-time or part-time as of September 15, 2013.
Student research that has been completed or in progress is eligible. This includes the results of an undergraduate honours thesis; results of a graduate research project; results of a summer research project; or an original research project that was completed in an undergraduate course.
Collaborative poster presentations are acceptable; however, the primary author must be a student who is eligible to compete in the poster competition.
Posters should stand on their own merit and not require additional verbal explanation.
Posters will be judged with students in attendance (mandatory) by three judges between
10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Judges will base their assessment on content, organization, and appearance.
No additional material may be used or added to the poster (e.g., laptop demonstration, models, or anything attached on the poster such as flaps or lifts).

One submission per person as either principal investigator or co-author. For space planning purposes, individuals who do not register cannot participate in the poster session.
Display Poster:
Maximum size is 36” wide x 48” high.

Student’s current registration will determine category.
Undergraduate: First Prize: $500; Runner-Up: $250
M.Sc.: First Prize: $500; Runner-Up: $250
Ph.D.: First Prize: $500; Runner-Up: $250
Honourable Mention (in each category): For most innovative poster design (no cash value)

Content, organization and appearance.
Competition Schedule:
9:30 a.m. – Poster Setup
10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. – Poster Viewing and Judging (principal investigator to be present)
1:00 p.m. – Awards and Closing Remarks
1:30 p.m. – Poster Takedown
