Research Interests

My research will examine the habitat use, movement and timing of belugas in the Mackenzie Estuary. Using past and present aerial survey data, I will address questions related to changes in beluga arrival dates over the past 30 years and factors driving habitat selection. I hope to enhance the understanding of beluga summer habitat in this region, as well as incorporate traditional knowledge to update our baseline of habitat use in relation to sea ice.
