Research Interests

My research is focused on identifying novice flint knapping activities at early Paleo-Eskimo chert quarries and interior habitation sites on southern Baffin Island. Through the analysis of lithic debitage my research will add to our understanding of the social significance of chert quarries as ancient classrooms where expert flint knappers would pass their knowledge to novices and how the location of these quarries influenced the movements of early Paleo-Eskimo people.
