Research Interests

My current research interests are studying applied electromagnetics and environmental applications, focusing on microwave remote sensing of Arctic sea ice and its applications in Arctic oil spill detection.   In particular, my research explores how the presence of crude oil beneath, within, and/or on the surface of sea ice affects the geophysical and electromagnetic characteristics of the ice, and utilizing this information to develop methods to detect oil spills in ice-infested waters using remote sensing technologies.
I have been involved with the oil-in-sea ice research campaigns at SERF since 2015, and am currently involved with the GENICE project.  In addition, I am registered as an Engineering Intern (E.I.T.) with Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba, and am a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).
