Dr. Lobb conducts research on soil erosion and sedimentation in terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems. He studies wind, water and tillage erosion, and their interactions, from hillslopes to catchments, within landscapes and watersheds across Canada. Key to this research is the use of fallout radionuclides as tracers. Although the focus of his work is the evolution and management of land surfaces, it extends to the impacts of soil erosion and sedimentation on soil, air and water quality, economics, and public policy and programming.
