Research Interests

Mr. Matthews studies the seasonal diet, migration pattern variation, and habitat use of killer, beluga, and bowhead whales. He uses a combination of fieldwork (satellite telemetry and biopsy) and labwork (stable isotopes and trace element analysis of tooth growth layer groups and baleen) to achieve these objectives.
