M.Sc. University of Manitoba: "An Investigation of Atmospheric Temperature, Humidity and Cloud Detection Techniques over the Arctic Marine Cryosphere"
B.Sc. University of British Columbia: Atmospheric Science and Computer Science
Ms. Candlish studies the effect of clouds on the energy balance of the Arctic. Measuring parameters such as fractional coverage, vertical distribution, and composition, is key to predicting how clouds will influence, and be influenced by, a changing climate. Currently, Ms. Candlish is conducting a study that tests the reliability of satellite cloud detection compared to ground-based techniques.
