Research Interests
Dr. Lemes studies marine chemistry in the Arctic, specifically focusing on the chemical speciation of trace elements using isotope ratio mass spectrometer of sea ice and seawater as they relate to the carbonate system. He also conducts research in environmental analytical chemistry, focusing on metal and organometallic compounds in water and biota. Chemical speciation of trace elements in different matricies is of particular interest to understand their role in the ecosystem.
