Non-Asper Graduate Students Wanted for Business Venture Analysis Course
We are in the process of looking for non-Asper graduate students for our GMGT 7350 course (Business Venture Analysis). This course (worth 3 credit hours) teaches students how to take a new venture concept and create a business plan, protect the venture (IP), create an elevator pitch, and source funding.

This grad level course starts the  week of September 23, and will be scheduled as an evening or Saturday course. The reason for the flexibility is to ensure the team (generally coming from different faculties) can align their schedules to complete the work sessions. The team consensus dictates the weekly meeting schedule. Those that take GMGT 7350 in the Fall term then use the business plan and presentation skills learned and apply them in the Winter term in Asper course IDM 7010 (also 3 credit hours).

IDM 7010 is a business plan competition course that competes in two to four Graduate competitions in North America where they are scrutinized by judges who are industry experts, venture capitalists, and Angel investors. By winning a competition (generally first prize is $20,000), the U of M team would also be eligible for the Global Venture competition in early May 2014 in Texas. For any information on the course, please contact the instructor, Stuart Henrickson (stuart.henrickson@umanitoba.ca) or the MBA Graduate Program Manager, Ewa Morphy (ewa.morphy@umanitoba.ca).
