Karol McNeill Technician Award
We are pleased to announce a call for applications and nominations for the 7th Karol D. McNeill Research Technician Award. The annual award honors an outstanding technician in health sciences research at the University of Manitoba. Selection for this distinction is based on prolonged service, scientific excellence, leadership and mentorship. The award and monetary prize will be presented during the Manitoba Awards Session (Wednesday, June 7th) of the Canadian Student Health Research Forum (June 6-9, 2017).

Deadline for applications: Wednesday, May 31 2017 (3 PM, Department of Physiology & Pathophysiology. 432 Basic Medical Sciences Building)
Note: Previous year’s applications will only be kept for review for 3 successive years – updated applications can be submitted to replace prior applications.

Karol McNeill passed away in 2009 after 38 years of full time service as a research technician during which she epitomized professionalism and research excellence working with principal investigators in Immunology, Oral Biology and Physiology. She is remembered as a den mother and mentor to graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and research associates for whom she was invaluable to career development, and this award is meant to honour those that embody these attributes.
