Specialization - Family Resource Management

Understanding macro- and micro-economics is fundamental to improving quality of life. In this area, you will learn about issues ranging from the impact of stress on lone parents to how paid and unpaid work influence family health.

Requirements for Completing a Master’s Degree in Family Social Sciences with a Focus on Family Resource Management

  • 1 of:    
  • FMLY 7230 Work & Family Interrelationships
  • Family Social Sciences Seminar* within the first 12 months of the program
  • 1 elective at the 7000 level from within the department
  • 1 elective at the 7000 level within the department or 5000 level (or higher) outside the department
  • 9 credit hours* of methodology courses from the department approved list
  • a research thesis

*Important Note: These requirements are pending approval from the Faculty of Graduate Studies; it is anticipated that they will apply to all new MSc students entering the program in September 2010.
