Requirements for Completing a Master’s Degree in Family Social Sciences with a Focus on Family Violence and Conflict Resolution

  • FMLY 7800 Family Violence
  • FMLY 7810 Conflict and Mediation in Families
  • Family Social Sciences Seminar* within the first 12 months of the program
  • 1 elective at the 7000 level from within the department
  • 1 elective at the 7000 level within the department or 5000 level (or higher) outside the department
  • 9 credit hours* of methodology courses from the department approved list
  • a research thesis

*Important Note: These requirements are pending approval from the Faculty of Graduate Studies; it is anticipated that they will apply to all new MSc students entering the program in September 2010.
