Applied Health Sciences PhD Application Process
Potential students to the AHS PhD work with potential advisors and the director of the program to prepare their applications. There are no instructions for the students or their advisors to inform the Dean's office.

The AHS program office supports the program by allocation funding to all of the participating faculties. In addition, the participating faculties also make resources availalbe to students, such a study space, computer access and desks.

Given the resource implications it is appropriate for applications to the AHS PhD program to be submitted by the faculty on behalf of the student. The following process could be used:

  1.  The student develops an appropriate application in consultation with academic staff memebers and respective Department Head. The deadline for this application to be sent to the office of the Dean will be three weeks before the corresponding deadline in the Faculty of Graduate Studies.
  2. The Department Head adds a recommendation to the application concerning the advising of the potential student, and the possible need for resources.
  3. The Dean submits the application to the Faculty of Graduate Studies after consultation with the Department Head and the proposed advisor, as necessary.
