I am responsible for the coordination of all services for Undergraduate students in the Faculty of Human Ecology. I make sure the Calendar (Web and paper) is accurate. I schedule all Human Ecology courses (UG and G) and organize all aspects of registration. The development of the Aurora Student Information System is conducted in this office and I make sure the programs chosen are accessible to the students admitted to those programs. Recruitment of potential students is an ongoing part of my role, as is the coordination of UG admissions to this Faculty. Questions about program exemptions, problems with courses or programming, and reviews of student programs are an important aspect. I am responsible to ensure that scholarships, awards and bursaries are given to the right people! I serve on the Faculty-based committees that affect undergraduate student progress and programming, and represent the Faculty at University-level committees.

I also develop forms related to undergraduate Student Advising; delivery and orientation services to new Human Ecology students, promote all the programs in Human Ecology through presentations, and by attending career symposiums in Winnipeg and throughout Manitoba. In June 2007, I graduated with a Bachelor of Human Ecology in Family Social Sciences.
Maria Knaus; Community Based Learning Coordinator

My main responsibility is to assist academic staff and students by coordinating learning activities and opportunities for students with community based organizations and agencies. I act as a liaison between the faculty and agencies to establish site visits, interviews, practicum placements and ensure that the necessary documentation is in place. The Faculty holds an annual Career Day, which I coordinate along with a student representative from HESO and faculty staff. I also sit on the University Undergraduate Dietetics Program Committee and act as a resource person for those students interested in applying for a dietetic internship. Lastly, I also serve as a resource person for students who are interested in community based volunteer work.
