NOTES:

2. Free electives are the student’s choice. To graduate, the student must include: 15 credit hours of free electives. However, students may need to use a free elective as a prerequisite before completing a program elective.
3. Program electives must be taken from an approved list (found on the Human Ecology website): http://umanitoba.ca/faculties/human_ecology/ and the Undergraduate Calendar. To graduate, the student must include 36 credit hours of program electives from an approved list.
This includes:
*Minimum Social Science courses: 21 from 36 credit hours
*Minimum Science courses: 12 from 36 credit hours
*Minimum 3000 & 4000 level courses: 24 from 36 credit hours
B.H.St.: students are required to take 21 credit hours of social science and 12 credit hours of science courses from 36 credit hours of Approved Electives. It is advisable to thoroughly plan your four year program and speak to a Academic Advisor during drop in hours for guidance in choosing courses. Program electives should be planned strategically and upon entering the Faculty of Human Ecology. Additional prerequisites may be required for higher level courses. The table below is for course planning.
