14th Annual Child and Family Research Symposium

Call for Poster and Paper Presentations

This year's symposium focuses on a wide range of issues relevant to poverty at a global and local level and how it affects the family. Topics of interest may include but are not limited to: poverty/economic health, housing, homelesness, mental health, disability, worka nd family issues, healthy communities, child and family health, child and adolescent development, violence, aging, parenting, risk and resiliance, prevention, program evaluation, cutlure social policy, and more.

We welcome submissions from diverce disciplines and perspectives, from graduate students, and the community.

The Symposium provides a forum for an exchange of ideas, both academic and applied, relevant to family health.

Registration is free of charge.

Lunch will be provided free of charge for all registrants.

Title for Andrew’s presentation is “The experiences of homelessness and poverty in Winnipeg”

“RaY (Resource Assistance for Youth) is a community and street level organization committed to helping youth and young adults find a way back from the street. RaY provides youth with what they need, on their terms, to better their lives. Many of the youth that are involved with RaY have been involved in the street sometimes in different ways; some are homeless, squeegeeing or flagging, involved in the sex trade, or involved in the drug trade.”
