Research
Dr. Lengyel's research focuses on nutrition and health-related issues of older adults residing in personal care homes, assisted living facilities, and in community residences, in both rural and urban areas, to improve their nutritional well-being, longevity and quality of life.

Current Research:

  • Consumer segment profiles and food consumption practices of baby boomers and older adults residing in urban and rural areas.
  • The influence of body image on food choices of baby boomer and older women.
  • The associations between nutritional risk, successful aging, and self-rated health among community-dwelling older men participating in the Manitoba Follow-Up Study.
  • The development of food products for baby boomers and older consumers.
  • The impact of relocation on the eating behaviors and lifestyle practices of older adults in long-term care facilities.
