To Athletes, Coaches, and Parents,
The University of Manitoba Womenʼs Basketball Program would like to inform you about the female Basketball Academy we will be having this October to December. It is a great opportunity to work with amazing coaches in an elite setting. The academy will not only focus on the physical demands of the game but also the mental aspects.
The Academy is proud to introduce our new coach, Lena Ogorodnikova. Lena played professional basketball in Italy, Israel, France and Romania as well as being a member of the Ukraine National team for 12 years. Lena brings a unique perspective and skill set to our program with her experiences as a pro playing internationally. Along with Lena, athletes from the Bisons Women's Basketball team will assist her at each session. The inclusion of the University athletes in the sessions gives the young athletes the opportunity to interact with young females that are successful on the court, in the classroom and in the community.
There will be two different sessions that can be signed up for (You can sign up for any one of them or more than one), Sundays or Thursdays. Sunday sessions will be divided by grades (1-4, 5-6, 7-12) and Thursday sessions will be open to athletes in grades 5-12. Information on the sessions and cost can be downloaded as a PDF.
