Bison Athlete Walkway of Honour
Please join us in celebration when we officially open the:
BISON ATHLETE WALKWAY OF HONOUR
11:30 a.m., Saturday, September 15, 2012
Investors Group Athletic Centre, Plaza
75 Sidney Smith Street, Fort Garry Campus
This unique walkway commemorates the exceptional athletic achievements and contributions to the community of former Bison Athletes by listing their names on one of 19 three-sided towers.
Every Bison alumni in attendance will receive a ticket for the Bison Football Homecoming Game against the Calgary Dinos. Game time is 1 p.m. at University Stadium.
There will be approximately 4,000 Bison alumni acknowledged in the following sports:
Men’s and Women’s Basketball
Women’s Field Hockey
Football
Men’s and Women’s Golf
Men’s and Women’s Gymnastics
Men’s and Women’s Ice Hockey
Women’s Soccer
Men’s and Women’s Swimming
Men’s and Women’s Track and Field
Men’s and Women’s Volleyball
Men’s and Women’s Wrestling
This will be the first of a kind recognition of all former athletes on any University campus in North America. With approximately 2.6 million visitors each year to the University of Manitoba campus, it will be a spectacle to see as well as acknowledge the many Bison alumni that have contributed to the University in so many different ways.
We will invite all alumni to the grand opening of their Bison Athlete Walkway of Honour to take place on Homecoming weekend on September 15, 2012.
