The Faculty of Kinesiology & Recreation Management's Facilities area is excited to announce that the outdoor sports fields, featuring FieldTurf synthetic grass, is now open for Bison Recreation Services Soccer Club, Intramurals, University of Manitoba Soccer League (UMSL), and Bison Sport’s Women’s Soccer and Men’s Football.

The FieldTurf surface is made up of specially manufactured synthetic grass, combined with a formulated infill mixture of specially graded silica and cryogenically ground rubber which is brushed into the spaces between the grass fibers. The grass fibers act jointly with the infill mix to form a very safe, resilient, shock absorbing and long lasting sports playing surface. The fields were designed to meet the quality levels of the FIFA Recommended 2 Star artificial turf pitch.

The fields are located beside the Indoor Soccer Complex with the (East Field) accommodating both football and soccer while the second field (West Field – which is just finalizing construction) is for soccer only.
