University of Manitoba Basketball League (UMBL)
The UMBL is a men’s recreational, competitive basketball league. Open to all members of the University of Manitoba community, including students, staff and alumni, with or without a membership with Recreation Services. The league is open to those 18 years old, and older. Registration is accepted on a team basis only.
The season runs Sundays, from September to April, with a 20 game regular season, and a minimum of 2 playoff games. Games are played out of the New Gym at the Frank Kennedy Centre, with Basketball Manitoba certified officials. There is FREE parking evenings and weekends at the Fort Garry Campus.

To provide an enjoyable atmosphere for basketball that fosters good sportsmanship, and allows players to compete in a safe, recreational league.

The 2012-2013 season is now underway, as the games started on September 23rd 2012. Come by and check out the action every Sunday in the Frank Kennedy Centre, New Gym. Registration is now closed for this season. Registration information for the next season will be available on July 15, 2013.

How do I register my team?
Print off the team registration form and bring it with payment to the customer service desk at the Frank Kennedy Centre during normal hours of operation. Payment is accepted by cash, debit, credit card and only cheques made out to the University of Manitoba. Confirmation of successful registration and next steps will be sent to the team captains. Registrations will not be considered complete without the team registration form, located in the registration information package as a pdf link on the right.
In addition, all teams must pay a Team Default Deposit in the amount of $200. This deposit acts as a performance bond against team behaviour and ensuring all league requirements are met. These requirements include: attendance at team captain's meeting, attending all scheduled games, and no performance or sportsmanship issues.
