North Eastman Health Association Paramedic Physical Fitness Assessment

About the assessment

  • These assessments are typically done part of the application process of the North Eastman Health Association
  • You must be involved in the application process of the department to be tested
  • In the case of applicants to paramedic-etc., they will confirm your conditional acceptance
  • You must register for the assessment one week in advance of test date
  • North Eastman Health Association  may have specific requirements for registering for testing. Contact the department for specific details. If they do not have specific information, the following information applies.

 Location

All assessments take place in the Frank Kennedy Centre at the University of Manitoba in Winnipeg .

Cost

  • $120.00 (non-refundable) Payable when you register (cost includes GST)
  • No refund if you do not show up
  • Payment is non-transferable from person to person
  • The $120.00 fee is good for one test only
  • Refunds, less a $15.00 administration fee, will be granted ONLY with a valid medical certificate
  • Candidates must give 4 working days (Mon. to Fri.) notice to have test date changed
  • Candidates are required to have completed Par-Q form (PDF) together with a payment at the time of the registration
  • NO phone registrations, candidates may register by mail, fax or in person only
  • Please make cheques payable to the University of Manitoba
  • We accept, visa, master card, interact, cheque or cash
  • All scheduled appointments are subject to cancellations by the University of Manitoba, notification of this will be provided 4 days in advance

Duration

  • Expect to be at the University for 2  hours on the day of your test
  • Parking is free after 4:30 pm and on weekends, except where designated as “24 hour reserved”. We suggest parking in U lot, where ticket parking (before 4:30 pm) is $2.00 for 2 hours, or in the University parkade.

Checklist

  1. Register for the physical fitness assessment after the Paramedic Physical Fitness Assessment registration form and Par-Q. Registration takes place   at the University of Manitoba, Sports and Active Living Centre at the Frank Kennedy Centre
  2. Download and read the information package carefully
  3. Follow the preparation instructions
  4. On your test day please bring
    • Picture identification, such as a drivers' license
    • Shorts
    • T-shirts with short sleeves
    • Running shoes
    • Lock (for a locker), day locks are available if necessary
