Who can apply?

All Asper students are encouraged to apply! Entrance into the Asper Co-op program is competitive based on GPA, motivation, communication skills and standing in the Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) program.

Full admission into the program will be contingent on a student's ability to secure a work term placement.  If a student does not secure a work term, they are encouraged to speak to the Co-op Coordinator to identify their options.  Please review the Co-op Rules and Regulations (pdf).

How to apply?

Students are required to apply online for admission to the co-op program.  Complete applications will include:

  • a recent resume
  • a cover letter indicating your interests and motivations for participating in the Co-op program

Kathryn with awardAll applicants must attend a mandatory recruitment session as the last step in the Co-op application process. This is similar to a group interview where students will be required to speak about their work/volunteer experience, motivations for participating in co-op, career goals and take part in some group activities.  The interview will be evaluated on four criteria: suitability for the program, motivations for participating in co-op, interview skills and preparation, and adaptability to the workplace. Business casual attire is appropriate for the recruitment session.

Students who are accepted for the program will be notified by the Co-op Office.  The number of students is contingent on the Co-op Office's ability to secure sufficient placements and may fluctuate from year to year.

To apply first create a new account in the Career Portal by clicking on the Apply button below. Once you are logged in, go to the Profile tab and then to Co-op Application Form. Fill out the form and follow the instructions carefully.
