CPR Requirements
- First year students must have certification in CPR designated as Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers (C) no later than the first day of class. The CPR course must be a certified Heart and Stroke course and you must be issued a Heart and Stroke card in order for the course to meet the requirement. If you are issued a card without the Heart and Stoke designation, you will be required to re-take the course. You are responsible for providing a copy of your CPR card to the Admissions & Enrolment Services office no later than your first day of class.
- Medical students returning to school must annually renewal their BLS (C) prior to the first day of class. This is irregardless of the expiry date shown on your previous CPR card. Your CPR course must be a Heart and Stroke certified course and you must be issued a Heart and Stroke card in order for the course to meet the requirement. If you are issued a card without the Heart and Stroke designation, you will be required to re-take the course. You are responsible for providing a copy of your CPR card to the Admissions & Enrolment Services office.
- A failure to comply with this requirement will result in your exclusion from all academic activities until the CPR course is complete and the Admissions & Enrolment Services office has a copy of your CPR card.
Adult Criminal Records Check
- An Adult Criminal Records Check self-declaration will be required of all applicants at the time of application. There is a question on the Supplementary Application you must answer regarding this. You are not required to order a check at this time.
- First year students must present an Adult Criminal Records Check (with vulnerable sector) on the first day of class. This can take several weeks to be processed by the outside agencies responsible and it is advisable to order your check as soon as you accept your seat in the medical class. If you do not have your check returned to you by the first day of class, you must present a receipt of payment for the check and the date will be recorded in your file. You are responsible for presenting the check to the Admissions & Enrolment Services office when you receive it.

This check must be presented to the Admissions & Enrolment Services office prior to the first day of class. If you do not have your check returned to you by the first day of class, you must present a receipt of payment for the check and the date will be recorded in your file. You are responsible for presenting the check to the Admissions & Enrolment Services office when you receive it.
- A failure to comply with this requirement will result in your exclusion from all academic activities until the check has been ordered and you have presented the receipt to the Admissions & Enrolment Services office. If you do not follow up with the original copy of the check when you receive it, you will be excluded from all academic activities until the check is presented to the Admissions & Enrolment Services office.
- You can order your check in-person at any local RCMP detachment or the Winnipeg Police Service, Public Safety Building, 151 Princess Street, Winnipeg. Or you can complete this check on-line at: www.winnipeg.ca/police/pr/info_request.stm
Child Abuse Registry Self-Declaration Check
