Manitoba Practice Assessment Program
Selection

Candidates will be assessed by a team of 3 assessors. The goal of the MPAP is to have candidates assessed by a lead physician assessor that is familiar with the candidate’s field of practice, but not necessarily an expert “peer” assessor. Depending on the field of practice, assessors may be recruited from outside of Manitoba. The lead assessor will work together with one physician assessor and other assessor who may not necessarily be a physician.  It is common practice in assessment programs to have non-physicians (i.e., healthcare/ interprofessional colleagues) as part of the assessment team as they are able to provide insightful feedback, especially regarding the physician’s performance as a communicator, collaborator, manager, health advocate, and professional.
