History
Opened by the University of Manitoba Faculty of Medicine, Winnipeg Regional Health Authority and Province of Manitoba on April 11, 2008, the Clinical Learning and Simulation Facility (CLSF) is one of Canada’s most comprehensive simulation teaching facilities. The Faulty of Medicine, in collaboration with WRHA, operates the 11,000 square foot state-of-the-art facility  which is located in the 000 Level  of the University of Manitoba's Brodie Centre at 727 McDermott Ave.

The CLSF is transforming how Manitoba’s health professions are prepared to deal with real patients and medical emergencies. Realistic simulation training strengthens communication and clinical skills of students and ensures more confident, experienced practitioners.

Dr. Brian Postl, Dean of Medicine at the University of Manitoba, said the centre is a huge step forward in terms of both education and patient safety. “This allows students to practice the skills they need to develop before actually using them on patients. It is the way of the future.”
