High Fidelity Simulation is process which involves the use of state-of-the-art life-like mannequins for education and training. At the Clinical Learning Simulation Facility, a variety of mannequins are available to support a wide range of medical departments from Pediatric Care to Emergency Medicine.
Mannequins available for training include:
- SimMan3G -- This is a patient simulator developed by Laerdal and is predominantly used by the departments of Emergency, Internal Medicine and Anesthesia. SimMan3G can be utilized in pre-programmed scenarios, programmed for a specific scenario or used to facilitate an impromptu situation.
- Noelle – This patient simulator is utilized to practice Obstetrics/Gynecology skills. The Noelle mannequin is predominantly used by the department of Obstetrics.
- SimBaby and SimNewB – These two mannequins are used predominantly to simulate pediatric or neonatal scenarios for the department of Pediatrics.
- Baby HAL -- A simulator utilized to develop scenarios for newborns. Baby HAL is typically used the department of Pediatrics by the labour and delivery group areas.
Please note: use of the mannequins and the Clinical Learning Simulation Facility requires user training.
