Teaching using simulation is something that requires some commitment of time and resources to do well. Courses offered at large centres such as Wieser and Harvard cost between $5000 and $10000. However, obtaining such training for a large number of staff is neither logistically realistic nor necessary for most departments.
To assist programs with this important evolution, the faculty at the Clinical Learning and Simulation Facility have designed a train-the-trainers course that will prepare faculty to begin simulation curricula for their programs.
Over the two-day course, participants will learn what they need to begin developing simulation-based education for their programs. This course is open to anyone who wishes to use simulation in health care education, from all disciplines. Our ideal class would have a healthy mix of people form various backgrounds.
The cost of this course this year will be $945 per participant. The next course will be offered on January 21-22, 2012. Due to the need to maintain a favorable ratio of trainees to preceptors, space will be limited to 16 people. To enroll please register HERE.
