How do you book a session in the CLSF?
All users require approval prior to using the CLSF. Room booking requests are made thru our online booking system that directly notifies the CLSF Office Assistant via email. For more information, please visit the CLSF Room Booking page here or send an e-mail to clsfroombook@med.umanitoba.ca.
How do you book a tour of the CLSF?
CLSF tour requests also require approval in advance. Tour requests should include the approximate number of guests and tour guide requirements. All requests are to be made via email to clsfroombook@med.umanitoba.ca and should be made at least one week in advance.
Is prior training required to use the facility?
Sessions requiring simulation devices (SimMan, NewSim, SimBaby, Noelle, Bronchoscopy, Endoscopy, Laparoscopy) must have a trained supervisor. Approval must be given by the CLSF Medical Director and will be based on confirmation of appropriate training in the use of the device. A list of supervisors trained in the use of the simulation devices will be kept in the facility.
How do you get assistance with setup prior to a session?
CLSF users are responsible for ensuring that rooms are set up appropriately prior to use for their needs and should allow for sufficient setup time when requesting space in the CLSF. Users who request the use of simulation or audiovisual equipment for their session must have IT support assistance. Users who require assistance in setting up for their session must indicate that support is required as part of their room booking request. Setup assistance will not be provided to users if prior approval is not granted by the Medical Director.
Who is responsible for clean up after a session?
CLSF users are expected to complete general cleanup after their use as detailed below:
· Leave the exam rooms and auxiliary rooms as you found them. Return exam equipment, unused supplies, and furniture to their original location. Put trash in the receptacles and wipe up wet or soiled surfaces. If garbage cans are overflowing at the end of a session, please contact the CLSF receptionist.
· Turn off all lights at the end of your session.
What is the process for using audiovisual technology in the CLSF?
The CLSF is equipped to provide audiovisual services to user including video recording. All requests are to indicate whether video recording is required, and indicate the proposed use of the recording as described in the CLSF Rules and Procedures .
Computer CDs and DVDs can be used in the CLSF. However, the media should be submitted to IT support staff in advance to ensure that it is compatible with the software in the facility.
