This is a 900 bed tertiary care University teching hospital located in downtown Winnipeg next to the University of Manitoba School of Medicine. With 5000 staff it is a trauma, transplant and tertiary care center for the province. Many programs are run joi
ntly with the St. Boniface hospital, one mile away which is the second teaching hospital with 600 beds. There are dedicated Women's, Children's, Rehabilitation and Cancer hospitals all linked to the large main general hospital.
