OATWAY Fund Sponsorship Initiative

The OATWAY Fund is an endowment fund established by the Manitoba Medical College Foudation (MMCF). The express intent of the donor is that the fund be used towards activities and events that provide information, advice, counseling, and/or guidance to assist both undergraduate and postgraduate students in choosing appropriate careers in Medicine (General Family Practice/Specialty Practice) or at the University (teaching and research etc). These funds are accessible to eligible applicants through Student Affairs Medicine.

Student Interest groups are encouraged to seek financial support from the OATWAY Fund through Student Affairs Medicine. Eligible events must be open to both pre-clerkship and clerkship students, designed to promote awareness of the specialty and candidate suitability for a career in this field of medicine. (Skills focussed workshops are not eligible for this type of funding.)

Once your application has been approved, you will need to:

  • post acknowledgement of sponsorship through OATWAY funding at your event

After your event, you will need to:

  • Submit the original receipts for reimbursement of all eligible expenses to Student Affairs Medicine
  • Provide a brief overview of your event in writing, including:
    • the number of attendees
    • which years were represented at the event
