University of Manitoba Undergraduate Elective Requirements
There are several choices available for accommodations:

ST. BONIFACE HOSPITAL RESIDENCE

Located at St. Boniface Hospital in the former Nursing Residence. Underground tunnel access to the Hospital and Research Centre.

Short-term sublets available
Orientation
The morning of your first day of your elective will be an orientation you will not be attending the OR until the afternoon on this day. You will meet with the Department of Anesthesia, Undergrad Program Assistant, Ingrid Heinrichs at 8 a.m.
Academic
During your elective you are invited to attend the Anesthesia Resident Seminars held on Wednesday mornings from 9:00 a.m. to 12 Noon in variuos locations around campus. Further information regarding the seminars planned during your elective will be provided to you by the Department Administrator during your initial orientation. In addition to the seminars if there are Journal Clubs or Visiting Professors during your elective you are welcome to attend these as well.
Computer and Internet Access
The Department of Anesthesia has several computers available at Health Sciences Centre (Adult and Women's), St. Boniface Hospital, Children's Hospital and Anesthesia Administrative offices for your use. All the computers have internet access.
Resident Facilities
The Anesthesia Residents have study facilities located in Anesthesia Administrative offices that are accessible 24 hours per day. This facility is equipped with textbooks, journals, telephone, desktop internet access computers with a scanner. You will have access to a fridge and microwave while in these offices. If you are from out of province your ID security badge will provide you with 24 hour access to this facility.
Recreational Facilities
Both Bannatyne Campus and Fort Garry Campus have recreational facilities available for your use, at your cost.
Library Access
The Medical Library is located in the Brodie Centre on Bannatyne Campus access to the library will be available to you following your registration with the Undergraduate Medical Education Office in the Faculty of Medicine.
Pager
Upon your arrival a Medical Student pager will be available for use during your elective.
