Overview of the Anesthesia Undergrad Program
The Department of Anesthesia at the U of Manitoba is involved in all
four years of medical education. The most prominent elements of the
Anesthesia program are presented in the clinical clerkship, in the MSR
and in the elective periods. For specific information on either of
these, please follow the links below. For other inquiries, contacts are
listed below.
The Anesthesia Portion of the Multiple Specialties Rotation
The goal of the clerkship is to produce competent physicians. The MSR
rotation in Anesthesia has been designed to give you a grounding in some
of the basic medical skills which are part of the special expertise of
Anesthesiologists. For a detailed outline of the program please go to
Anesthesia MSR
Anesthesia Electives
Anesthesia electives are available for both the early and regular
elective periods. Students have a wide range of sub-rotations form which
to choose to design an elective that suits their educational goals.
There is a greater focus on the specialty of Anesthesia itself, as
opposed to the general medical emphasis of the MSR. A detailed outline
of the program can be found at
Undergraduate Anesthesia Electives.
