Welcome to the Manitoba First Nations Centre for Aboriginal Health Research The Manitoba First Nations Centre for Aboriginal Health Research (MFN CAHR) is a centre of research excellence in the Faculty of Medicine, Department of Community Health Sciences, Section of First Nations, Metis and Inuit Health. Researchers affiliated with the centre work collaboratively to advance the health and wellbeing of indigenous peoples in Manitoba, Canada and internationally.
Centre activities include:
- initiating, coordinating and supporting research activities designed to assist First Nations, Metis, Inuit and other Indigenous communities and organizations in their efforts to promote healing, wellness and improved health services;
- integrating scientific and traditional indigenous approaches to producing new knowledge about health and health care;
- building research capacity of students and community-based researchers in indigenous health through the Manitoba NEAHR Program (formerly the ACADRE program)
