Biography:

Tom Hassard is a Professor in the Department of Community Health Sciences . He received his doctorate from the The Queen's University of Belfast  and has taught at universities in the United Kingdom and New Zealand.  He
teaches three biostatistics courses (93.747 Biostatistics 1,93.748  Biostatistics 2, 93.728 Advanced Biostatistics) in the Department's Graduate Program and is the author of two biostatistics textbooks. Dr. Hassard's research interests lie in the application of statistical techniques to the solution of real world problems in the health sciences.  He has a particular interest in the utilization of multivariate statistical methods, the evaluation of the psychometric properties of performance
assessment techniques, and the development of numerical tools for the assessment of the perceived quality of professional services.
